Welcome back to Bridge 2020
We hope you have had an enjoyable break and are ready for another year of
play.
Here are a couple of items to note before we start.
* Holiday bridge begins this Friday 17th, for the next three weeks.
* The first two Monday sessions in February you don't need to arrange
partners
The Te Puke bridge Club held their very successful Christmas Party in the Queen Street Club rooms on Saturday 30 November. Members and friends met to play bridge and have a Christmas meal
The occasion also marked the 60th anniversary of the formation of the club, and was attended by more then 50 members including the Club Patron and founding member Janett Burrett.
Congratulations to Delcie Martin and Gabrielle Harris on receiving their Local Master certificates!
Our annual Daffodil Day tournament was held on Wednesday, 21 August, with 14.5 tables.
This event has been running for over 25 years, with daffodils from Matapara Farm courtesy of the Bayliss/Matthews family.
The winners of the Margaret Reeves trophy this year were Carol Grant and Keith Reddaway.
It is with sadness that I pass on the news to you that Margaret Mackay died peacefully yesterday afternoon surrounded by her family. Margaret was a life member of Te Puke Club. Together with the then president of the Te Puke Contract Bridge Club Margaret was a prime mover in the purchase of the clubrooms.
